Beaton wins with 101 average in Copenhagen, narrow victories for Wattimena and Labanauskas

Steve Beaton produced a fine display at the Danish Darts Open with a 6-2 defeat of Adam Huckvale as the European Tour event began on Friday.

Beaton recorded a 100.98 average, firing in two 180s and pinning six doubles from twelve attempts, including a 101 checkout as he set up a round two clash with Rob Cross. Jermaine Wattimena and Darius Labanauskas both booked narrow wins in the first round. Wattimena survived three missed matchdarts from Wayne Jones, before the Dutchman claimed victory in the legdecider.
