Dobey has shown some brilliant form in the past few months and this continues here as he has reached the Last 16 in Minehead.
He will be joined by
Steve Lennon in the next round who edged past Cristo Reyes but only just. Lennon missed seven match darts on his way to the win but pinned double 4. He only averaged 79 though and will know that this will need to improve for the next round.
There were wins for Ricky Evans and Stephen Burton on Stage Two who saw off Jeffrey de Zwaan and Darren Webster respectively.
Evans was brilliant in seeing off De Zwaan claiming a 6-4 victory over the Black Cobra. He ended up winning with a 151 checkout with an average of 99 and sixty percent on his doubles.
Burton continued his under the radar run with a shock win over Webster. He squandered an opportunity to go 3-0 up but despite it going to 3-3, the Ipswich ace reeled off three consecutive legs to see off ‘The Demolition Man’.
