Ricky Evans knocked out the first seeded player at the German Darts Championship. 'Rapid Ricky' defeated Mensur Suljovic with 6-4 in the second round.

Suljovic took a 3-1 lead, but after four legs 'Rapid Ricky' managed to turn on the turbo. He hit two 15-dart legs to level the match, before Evans threw a 14-darter and a superb 124 checkout to lead 5-3. The Austrian came back to 5-4, but the game was over after Evans hit a 13-dart leg to win the match.
Stephen Bunting defeated two-time World Youth Champion Dimitri van den Bergh to reach the third round in Hildesheim. 'The Bullet' beat the Belgian after a leg-decider. Peter Wright made no mistakes against Andrew Gilding and booked a 6-3 victory over 'Goldfinger'.
