Keegan Brown knocked out Michael van Gerwen at the German Darts Championship after a very impressive display against the world number one.
Van Gerwen couldn't blame himself after his defeat as the three-time world champion produced a superb 108 average with 50% on the doubles. However, Brown's finishing was excellent as he didn't miss a single dart on the doubles throughout the match.
Only in the sixth leg Van Gerwen had a good chance to break the Isle of Wight ace. The Dutchman failed to break 'The Needle' within fifteen darts, but hit a 13-dart leg to lead 4-3 after seven legs. Brown then hit a 12-darter, 11-dart leg and a sublime 92 checkout to claim the win.
Brown faces James Wilson in the third round on Sunday afternoon. 'Jammy Dodger' edged out Mario Robbe in the second round to reach the final day at the German Darts Championship.
Mervyn King concluded the second round with a 6-3 win over Dave Chisnall. 'The King' meets Ricky Evans in the third round as 'Rapid Ricky' beat Mensur Suljovic on Saturday evening.
