The PDC World Championship will have two women qualifiers for the first time this year and already top names including Lorraine Winstanley, Deta Hedman, Corrine Hammond, Fallon Sherrock and Anastasia Dobromyslova have been confirmed as entries.
Hedman started off by tweeting about it saying her entry is in. As well as that she hopes other female players will follow. Winstanley, the current number one in ladies darts with the BDO replied saying that her entry is in too.
Hammond then confirmed that she will be there. The Australian will be joined in the European Qualifier by Dobromyslova as well as confirming also that Fallon Sherrock will be entering.
This leaves serious question marks about the BDO’s World Championship which have been raised in general due to no announcements so far.
It is not yet known whether the five big name players entering will be allowed to play both or if they will face sanctions but it seems that due to there being no announcements that they have made the decision to attempt the PDC edition anyway.
