The German Darts Championship introduces its seeds for the Saturday afternoon session. Some of them may feel threatened by talented non-seeds.

One of those is Darren Webster, whose seeded status is itself starting to come under threat. The Demolition Man is more in need of a good run than anyone in Hildesheim. He could've done with an easier first opponent of the weekend than Luke Humphries, who averaged three figures on Friday. Webster's first opponent of this German Darts Championship could easily be his last. Ian White's European Tour season didn't go swimmingly in Leverkusen. He's landed himself a devilishly tough second round draw here. Jamie Hughes is in the same quarter as Rob Cross and Daryl Gurney, yet there are some convinced that he could go all the way. It'll be difficult for the Black Country ace, but he's good enough to overcome White. James Wade will play the winner of the Webster-Humphries match, if he can get through the second round. That's tougher than it looks. Boris Koltsov was imperious in a 6-0 stuffing of Jyhan Artut, and the Russian's vast potential makes him a dangerous opponent. Jonny Clayton kicks off his German Darts Championship against Simon Stevenson, before Adrian Lewis plays surprise first round winner and German hopeful Kevin Knopf. Another of Germany's last hopes, Steffen Siepmann, plays Jermaine Wattimena. The Machine Gun has gone through a rollercoaster week without throwing a dart as Raymond van Barneveld's flip-flopping casts his World Cup of Darts chances in doubt. Doing well in Leverkusen would be the perfect tonic. Gerwyn Price was a whisker away from beating Michael van Gerwen in the European Darts Open quarter-finals. Given that van Gerwen went on to win the tournament, you wonder how close it was to being the Welshman taking the trophy. He starts his bid for this title against Mark Dudbridge, a man who once went a game from becoming world champion. The Bristolian did a great job in seeing off Gabriel Clemens yesterday. As 16th seed, James Wilson is technically the seed who is most vulnerable. If that's true, Mario Robbe has plenty to be excited about. The Dutchman will be aware that he'll have to do better than he did against Maik Langendorf to beat Wilson, a notoriously high scoring. for more information about the PDC European Tour, including the format, calendar and the prize fund breakdown.
