The field and contents of the pots ahead of the draw have been confirmed ahead of this weekends' Grand Slam of Darts at the Wolves Civic in Wolverhampton. The yearly tournament sees the best on both sides of the darting divide with PDC and BDO facing off. Michael van Gerwen comes to the Civic the heavy favourite to win 3 in a row but Phil Taylor is back and it is his final major before the World Championship so he will be out to stop the World Number One being really unchallenged at the European Championship and WSOD Finals.
There are 8 seeds involved who are listed below and correspond to the World Rankings of the players. 1 player will be taken out of this pot to start of the group and this will continue until there are 8 groups.
The line up includes mostly experienced players alongside some of the best youth talents such as Berry van Peer, Corey Cadby, Jeffrey de Zwaan and Steve Lennon as well as of course Cameron Menzies, Danny Noppert, Glen Durrant, Jamie Hughes, Mark McGeeney, Peter Machin, Ross Montgomery & Scott Mitchell on the BDO side vying to become only the second BDO player to win the tournament after Scott Waites in 2010.
