Dimitri van den Bergh and Josh Payne are set to face off on November 26th in Minehead as part of the Players Championship Finals in this years' PDC World Youth Championship final.
Two of the oldest but most experienced players on the Development Tour came through a Last 64 field full of the best young prospects in darts yesterday to reach the final and in the case of Josh Payne potentially grab a late spot in the World Championship after a lean year for the Gravesend native.
Payne himself defeated rising German youngster Nico Blum before seeing off Adam Hunt, Justin van Tergouw, Kenny Neyens and Corey Cadby all tough tasks to reach the final which makes his run to the final even more special.
Van den Bergh himself returned to the Youth Tour after a brilliant weekend at the WSOD Finals and continued his brilliant form by reaching the final. He defeated Qingyu Zhan, Rhys Griffin, Scott Dale and Ted Evetts before beating Development Tour winner Luke Humphries 6-5 to reach the final with Humphries missing a shot at the bull to book a spot at Minehead.
