Lewis was two-nil up and seemingly cruising towards the next round but ‘Code Star’ came back to tie the match up.
As a result, it was the third match to go the distance in the afternoon session and so Lewis will be relieved to make it through and carry on from where he left off last year.
In the first set of the match, ‘Fireball’ went one nil up hitting three 180’s and an 84 checkout to wrap it all up.
He looked great in the following set as well winning the set three-one to go two-nil up and go one set away from victory.
Harris though found a way back into proceedings winning the set 3-2 to make it 2-1 in sets. This was the lifeline he needed.
The New Zealand ace then came back to claim the following set and put it into a deciding set against the Welshman.
He couldn’t complete the job though with Lewis finding another gear to streak through into the next round after a tough test.
