The World Cup of Darts 2019 will take place from 6-9 June in Hamburg. Dartsnews introduces the competing nations ahead of the start of the event.
We are paying attention to Wales and Netherlands, two of the seeded teams in Germany. Both nations have been part of the
World Cup of Darts since the inaugural event in 2010.
Wales
Wales is one of the biggest outsiders for the title this year at the World Cup of Darts. With
Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton has Wales two players this year who both have won a
PDC ranking title this season.
Price makes his fourth appearance at this tournament. 'The Iceman' made his debut in 2016 and reached the final in 2017 with Mark Webster. They lost to the Netherlands in the final. After this edition, Jonny Clayton replaced 'The Spider' and he reached the quarter-finals with Price in 2018.
Wales also reached the final of the World Cup in 2010. Dutch duo Raymond van Barneveld and Co Stompé beat Mark Webster and Barrie Bates in the final.
