Former Lakeside runner up Tony O’Shea has hit out at the ‘stupid’ BDO ruling which will stop former BDO throwers returning after Q-School.

Daryl Fitton, Jamie Hughes and Cameron Menzies all entered Q-School unsuccessfully, but as they appeared at the Lakeside this year, The BDO have seemingly left them ineligible from qualifying for next years World Championship.
O'Shea was leftover disappointed to have not qualified for Lakeside 2018, but now sees it as the perfect storm after taking time out due to an operation last season.
"For me personally, it's a perfect storm because I can just drop back in [to the BDO]'', 'Silverback' said in a Facebook live interview with David Fatum.
"Our seasons overlap, the BDO season starts in October. I won the Turkish Open and played really good at the World Masters and Jersey so I'm actually really high up in the rankings.''
O’Shea also talked about his friend Darryl Fitton in detail, slamming the rule that will leave his friend marooned away from TV events this year.
“Obviously for Darryl [Fitton] and a few of the other boys, it's frustrating that they're great dart players and they could be penalised with stupid rules within the BDO that they've come to Q School and aren't allowed to drop back into the BDO - it's crazy.
"Maybe Darryl has the option for a bit of soft-tip, which would be nice, but that might be his only option and that's ridiculous.”
The stockport thrower now intends to make the best of both worlds, appearing on both the PDC Challenge Tour, and building on his strong start on the BDO tour to put himself in with a chance of capturing that elusive BDO world title.
