The Players Championship over the weekend gleamed two previous winners extending their title hauls but for Josh Payne the winner on the Sunday it was his first in 2 years and 2nd overall.

This title win has brought him into the world’s top 50 again; something which he will hope to improve on in the coming months. It is quite tight around that part of the rankings so Payne might still make further gains before the year is out.
Also making improvements alongside Payne are Adrian Lewis with ‘Jackpot’ reaching the latter stages again on Saturday. This has meant he jumps Jelle Klaasen for 19th. His next target is Benito van de Pas who himself had an okay weekend but it seems Lewis is back on the up.
Finally Jamie Caven further down has dropped out of the world’s top 50 for the first time in nearly ten years. ‘Jabba’ despite his poor form had been in the world’s top 32 for a long time; he now joins Kevin Painter in edging towards going out of the world’s top 64.
