The final 8 qualifiers have been confirmed for the Grand Slam in Wolverhampton starting this coming weekend, the week long tournament brings together the best from both sides of the darting divide, the
PDC and the BDO and the final 8 qualifiers have been confirmed for the event and there have been no shocks in the line up.
The qualifier was held directly after the World Youth Championship Last 64 in Wigan and as a result the likes of Benito van de Pas, Adrian Lewis, John Part and Paul Nicholson were in action trying to claim a spot. All failed though with Lewis missing his first Sky Sports televised event for a number of years.
Instead the qualifiers who got through were the Jammie Dodger, James Wilson who has had a good resurgence of form lately after having a slight dip in form and recently made his first ProTour final losing to Jonny Clayton. Another man with a good resurgence of form recently is Stephen Bunting who yet again qualifies for another major showing his upturn in form.
Robbie Green and Joe Murnan make their returns to a major after not appearing for one in sometime with Green previously taking part in the tournament and Murnan making his debut.
Darren Webster makes his return to the tournament he famously beat Phil Taylor in last year and is joined by Alan Norris who despite not being in the best form recently including being thrashed 10-0 in the European Championship is very good on the floor. Finally two young guns are in the line up in the form of Jeffrey De Zwaan and Steve Lennon in a quality field of qualifiers.
