The evening session of the PDC Players Championship Finals introduces the world's top four to the action.
Before the big guns come out, a Players Championship Finals debutant comes to the fore. Thanks to a run to the Players Championship 9 final, Scott Taylor has earned a piece of the Minehead action. He'll take on Ian White, who is still waiting on a strong major performance. Gary Anderson is on the Main Stage second, freshly fuming from a Grand Slam final catastrophe. The two-time
PDC world champion starts his campaign against veteran Alan Tabern.
The Price of Success
World champion Rob Cross meets Cristo Reyes, before the Grand Slam champion enters the fray. Gerwyn Price has a real banana skin of a first round clash; Krzyszstof Ratajski will fancy his chances despite his opponent's hot form. Like world number three Cross, world number two Peter Wright has a Spanish opponent, in the form of Toni Alcinas. Michael van Gerwen, after some patchy form, could do with a major title. His bid to do so begins against Matthew Edgar. And in a fast-flinging end to the Main Stage action, Michael Smith clashes with fellow speedster Vincent van der Voort - who'll surely be delighted with on offer.
Jonny Replayton?
There are nine ties taking place on Stage Two in the evening. Jermaine Wattimena plays Stephen Burton before Joe Cullen faces notorious giant-killer John Henderson. After reaching last year's final, Jonny Clayton will want at least a repeat performance. The Welshman is in good form too, and may prove too hot to handle for compatriot Mark Webster.
Ricky Evans and Jan Dekker meet, before James Wilson takes on the Grand Slam's nine-dart hero, Dimitri van den Bergh. Danny Noppert makes his Players Championship Finals debut, close to two months on from Players Championship 20 marking his maiden PDC title. His opponent is Rowby-John Rodriguez.
Chris Dobey plays Ron Meulenkamp and Darren Webster battles with Jeffrey de Graaf in two England versus Netherlands ties. Then Steve Beaton and Kim Huybrechts take to the stage to round off the session. If it's anything like their thrilling meeting at the European Darts Trophy, this will be a treat.
Play begins at 7pm, and is live on ITV4.
