Phil Taylor won again in another dramatic Quarter-Final match with his old adversary
Raymond Van Barneveld in another one of their El Classico matches and despite looking like he was on the edge of the defeat he is through to face the winner of Cadby/Smith on his birthday tomorrow in the Semi-Finals.
Barney started off by missing a dart for a 121 checkout before Taylor hit tops for a 1-0 lead and a hold of throw to punish the 5 times champion of the World. RVB levelled up with a 116 checkout for 1-1.
Taylor followed this up by pinning D8 for a 2-1 lead and another hold with Barney having a 106 average to Taylor's 110. Barney despite having a cruel bounceout made up for it by smashing in a 121 checkout to level it at two-a-piece.
Barney gained an all-important break of throw with a beautiful 177 followed by D12 checkout to lead 3-2 at the break!
RVB missed 8 darts at double for a 4-2 lead and this allowed the Power to return and level the score at 3-3.
Both men since returning lost their double hitting and power scoring but it was Barney who hit D20 to return to the top at 4-3 with another break.
Phil left D8 but fluffed his lines and this allowed Barney in to lead 5-3. Taylor came back and held throw on D10 to reduce the defecit to 5-4 and clawed the break back in the following leg to leave it locked at 5-5 at the second interval.
The Power returned to hold his throw hitting a 98 finish on D19 leaving the match at 6-5, Barney followed it up with a 180 in the next leg followed by a 90 checkout to level it up at 6-6.
Taylor hit D20 to make it 7-6 but Barney hit back with a 180 and his trademark D18 to make it 7-7 before getting a crucial break the following leg to make it 8-7. Van Barneveld found D12 to put him one away at 9-7.

Raymond made the wrong choice trying to hit D19 and Taylor came back to hit 91 to win!
