Both players shared the first ten legs, but it could have been 6-4 or 7-3 in Price's advantage. However the Welshman missed darts on the doubles in three of Payne's legs.
In the second half of the game, Price won four legs on the spin to lead 9-5. The two-time major-finalist then finished the match in style with a 14-dart leg.
