The second round of the
European Championship commences tonight from 7pm and it includes some of the best in the world of darts as the format changes to the best of 19 legs.
Some of the players involved include Jelle Klaasen and Kyle Anderson who face off first tonight, both came out of last night with convincing wins against Christian Kist (6-0) and John Henderson (6-1) and with both men part of the same management stable as well, there will not only be a place in the Last 8 up for grabs but bragging rights between the pair.
Simon Whitlock who in the last major, the World Grand Prix picked up the runners up trophy will be aiming to go one better in Hasselt, a tournament he has won before and to potentially allow that to happen he has to beat the unpredictable Alan Norris who he could turn over easily or get really pushed by.
Michael van Gerwen, the overwhelming favourite to record another win in the European Championship come the end of the weekend has Ian White next who has beaten the World Number 1 both on the floor and on the Euro Tour quite convincingly but he is a player yet to really live up to his potential on stage so will see this as a big opportunity to turn over Mighty Mike and blow the tournament wide open.
Finally to end the night are two of the fastest rising stars in
PDC darts in Mensur Suljovic, a finalist last year and a recent first time TV title winner will take on Gerwyn Price who has massively impressed including reaching his first major final at the UK Open and will be hoping to go one better come Sunday if he gets past the Austrian Number One.
