GSOD18 Michael Unterbuchner

Michael Unterbuchner became the first BDO representative through to the Last 16 by dumping out Ian White in the final game in Group D.

Unterbuchner looked good in his last match and continued that in this case. He profited off wastefulness by White and in the process of making it through became the first ever German to make it to the last 16 of the Grand Slam. A tough test awaits though for ‘T Rex’ who will face James Wade next.
He was joined in the Last 16 by fellow BDO player Wesley Harms. ‘Sparky’ edged out Keegan Brown in a high quality encounter. It went all the way to a deciding leg but could have been so much different.
Brown was up 3-1 but was pegged back by Harms to 3-3, The Needle took the lead once again but it went to a decider. The Isle Of Wight ace missed one dart for the match and his opponent made no mistake securing his progression.
Both players averaged 103 but it is the Dutchman who joins Wade to progress from Group C. It was five 180’s each with 66% on the doubles for Brown and 50% for Harms.
