GSOD18 Michael van Gerwen

Group A is now sorted with Michael Van Gerwen confirming his qualification from the group with a win over Joe Murnan.

Van Gerwen could have potentially found himself out of the tournament if certain permutations had occurred. He made sure that didn’t happen though with a 5-1 win over the out of sorts Joe Murnan. It was a 97 average for the World Number One with two 180’s and a 41% checkout percentage.
Jonny Clayton finished top of the group though with his win over Gary Robson. This 5-3 victory cemented his 100% record so far at this year’s Grand Slam.
It was an 87 average with the Welshman like Van Gerwen just needing to win so it wasn’t the flashy games they’ve previously had this tournament.
