Van Gerwen continues ruthless form, will face North in semi-finals

Michael van Gerwen continued his ruthless form with a 6-1 victory over Simon Whitlock to reach yet another Euro Tour semi-final this time at Leverkusen. He will face Richard North who defeated Ron Meulenkamp despite neither player reached the heights of their weekends so far.
Van Gerwen breezed past Whitlock in his 6-1 victoy with three ton plus finishes in a row in the opening three legs with 117,100 and 170 showing him as the man to beat this weekend once again.
North reaches a first PDC Euro Tour semi-final, last time he faced Van Gerwen though on the Euro Tour he lost 6-0 and he even said afterwards he will be happy to get a leg.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
