Michael van Gerwen has piled the pressure onto Rob Cross with victory over Mensur Suljovic.

Van Gerwen only just edged out ‘The Gentle’ with an 8-5 victory averaging just under 100 with a 97 average. It also means that both Daryl Gurney and James Wade are through to the O2 successfully.
MVG started off as he often does by smashing his way to the front with a 5-0 lead. He hit a 103 average with 63 percent on the doubles at this point.
Suljovic came back to trail 5-3 as he aimed for one last push for the play-offs. Van Gerwen stopped the rot and Suljovic needed five straight legs. He kept that up at 6-4 but MVG went one away at 7-4. He then claimed the win 8-5 to go back to the top of the table.
