Gurney claims commanding victory over Smith, Price now officially eliminated

Daryl Gurney claimed a commanding victory over Michael Smith to put himself into pole position for a play-off spot.

Gurney ended up winning 8-3 with a 101 average and five 180’s and as a result, he knocks Gerwyn Price out of the reckoning.
‘Superchin’ claimed first blood with a 100 checkout on throw. He continued to play well but Smith hit back with a 101 checkout.
Both were averaging mid 110’s and it ended up at two apiece meaning it was tied in the early going.
Gurney though stretched his lead to 4-2 in what could have been a pivotal checkout for the Northern Irishman.
Smith came back but Gurney held firm to extend his lead to 6-3. He assured himself of a point by making 7-3.
He concluded the victory from there as he edges closer to the O2.
