Van Gerwen as a result extended his run in the Grand Slam to 22 matches. He showed no mercy with six 180’s restricting ‘Big Robbo’ to only one leg overall. Despite his brilliance he didn’t have to rely on his checkouts with his highest being 50.
Gary Anderson on the other hand also eased through but didn’t have to smash in a huge average. It was only 91 for Ando in a 5-2 victory over the German, Michael Unterbuchner.
Three 180’s despite lots of bounce outs meant a good return for the Flying Scotsman. He will have to face Ian White tomorrow who put in an impressive display
earlier.
