The 27-year-old Cross stunned the world by beating Phil Taylor 7-2 to win at the Ally Pally on his debut. Voltage dominated the
PDC Annual Awards, taking the Players' Player of the Year, Fans' Player of the Year and Best Newcomer awards. He also took the Best Televised Performance gong, for his incredible 6-5 win over Michael van Gerwen at the World Championship.
Next up for the new world number three is a debut appearance at the Masters in Milton Keynes. His campaign begins against Ian White on Friday evening.
"It's really exciting. The past year has been full of new experiences for me and this will be another one," said Cross.
"It was a goal of mine to get into the Masters anyway because it's the top 16 in the world and it means a lot to be in that bracket, but to be here as World Champion is amazing for me."
Cross has quickly become a household name after his Ally Pally triumph. Following a wave of publicity, it is back to action for the former electrician.
"The reaction since the World Championship has been unbelievable and it's been a busy time but I've been putting in the practice still and it will be nice to get back to playing," he said.
