GLASGOW WRIGHT1

Peter Wright has seen off Steve Lennon in the second game of Premier League action in Dublin but had to come from behind to see off the contender.

Lennon was 3-0 up and seemingly cruising towards potentially shocking Wright but ‘Snakebite’ came back to claim the win. Now called ‘The Shamrock’, Lennon walked on to a brilliant crowd reaction which he will likely savour for the rest of his career.
He harnessed that smashing in three consecutive legs including a brilliant 11-darter and a 105 checkout. Wright though then had three in a row of his own with Lennon having to dig in to stay in the game from there.
He didn’t do so until Wright went 5-3 up but by that point, ‘Snakebite’ claimed his requisite leg to claim a point. Lennon wasn’t done and it went to 6-5 which could have meant a draw but the former Premier League finalist edged through.
