"Still miss you and will raise a glass to you tonight": Van Barneveld and Taylor pay tribute to Bristow five years on from passing

Today (Wednesday 5 April) is the five year anniversary of the legendary 'Crafty Cockney' Eric Bristow passing away who left a huge void in the world of darts after the effects of a heart attack on a night where he priorly entertained guests at the Premier League Darts.

Many have shared their thoughts on the anniversary including Phil Taylor who had Bristow as his mentor as well as fellow darting legend, Raymond van Barneveld. Both said they will raise a glass tonight.

"It’s 5 years ago today since my darting hero Eric Bristow passed away. I was devastated by the news and still am. He was my biggest inspiration. Still miss you and will raise a glass to you tonight," said the Dutch legend on Twitter.

"Five years ago today I lost a pal. Will raise a glass (or two) tonight bud, always think about you," said The Power also on Twitter.
