Although
Raymond van Barneveld's return to
European Tour action may have ended earlier than he would have like in Riesa last weekend at the International Darts Open, the doyen of dutch darts is excited and determined to do better at the
German Darts Grand Prix.
"It's good to be back in Munich and hopefully for a better result than last year," van Barneveld tells Target Darts. Twelve months ago, Barney destroyed an out of sorts James Wilson 6-0 in the opening round before falling in round two to Damon Heta.
When asked what he enjoys most about travelling the world as a professional darter, "winning!" Van Barneveld replies with a smile. "Winning in front of a crowd is the best feeling ever," he explains. "When you win a game with the crowd behind you and they are shouting your name and you win there is no better feeling."
"They are always behind me wherever I go," he continues. "Playing in Ahoy for instance in Rotterdam during the Premier League the whole crowd was orange and watching these videos back on YouTube I still get goosebumps."
