More than 100 players sign up for PDC European Q-School

More than 100 players will compete at European Q-School, according to the latest PDPA list.

121 players have currently entered, with the chance for more to join before today's 2pm deadline. The entrants will meet at Halle 39 in Hildesheim, Germany, with the hope of earning a two-year Tour Card. Only the winner of each day's tournament will automatically earn a spot. With Q-School running from January 19-22, that means four automatic spots are up for grabs. More places will be given out according to a ranking system based on the players' performances across the four days.
All eyes are on Brazilian star Diogo Portela, who has been tipped for greatness and reached the PDC World Championship at the end of 2017.
A whole host of World Championship qualifiers have entered the fray. Kevin Munch, who stunned Adrian Lewis at the Ally Pally, will be in Hildesheim. He will be joined by Kenny Neyens, Alen Ljubic, Marko Kantele and Kim Viljanen. BDO World Masters champion Krzysztof Ratajski will also be taking part.
Dennis Nilsson, who reached the first round at the Lakeside after some decent performances in the European Tour, will be looking to earn a card. It is possible that fellow BDO World Championship stars Danny Noppert and Geert de Vos will be added to the list. World Youth champion Justin van Tergouw is also a possible addition.
Recent Tour Card holders John Michael, Dirk van Duijvenbode and Jeffrey de Zwaan will be hoping for a return to the big time. Q-School also threatens to be a family affair. Carlo van Peer will join his brother Berry, who won a lot of supporters at the Grand Slam. Roxy-James and Rusty-Jake Rodriguez enter with the hope of joining big brother Rowby-John on the Tour.
