The field is set and the draw is done ahead of the 2021/22 PDC
World Darts Championship with 18 debutants set to take to the oche for this year's tournament at the Alexandra Palace.
Among them is a former World Champion who has had a steady rise since joining the PDC after a long career in the BDO in
Scott Mitchell. He will become the latest player to appear at both Lakeside and Ally Pally.
Joined by
Alan Soutar fresh off his opening year on the tour which especially at the start showed serious promise, while
Martijn Kleermaker finally gets his first appearance after testing positive for Covid-19 last year.
Others set to be involved include European Development Tour champion, Rusty-Jake Rodriguez and Chas Barstow who have both claimed spots without a Tour Card.
While Lewy Williams,
Florian Hempel and Jason Heaver are three players who like Soutar have completed the feat in their first year as a Tour Card holder. This was even more impressive for Hempel who has had less time on the tour than most after missing the first few months.
Former World finalist,
Jim Williams who will become a PDC Tour Card holder next year and livewire Canadian, John Norman Jnr are also among the leading names on the list with some intriguing stories set outside of the top stars.
