It is the turn of the seeded players today as they join proceedings at the 2020 Belgian Darts Championship taking place in Hasselt for two sessions starting with this afternoon's schedule.
Beginning the schedule off is Michael Smith. Fresh off his nine-dart antics at the Premier League on Thursday night, he will likely have the crowd against him this time as he faces off against Ronny Huybrechts, who
won through against Luke Humphries yesterday.
In one of the best games of the day, it sees Joe Cullen face off against Martijn Kleermaker. The latter wasn't at his best yesterday in terms of doubling and nearly spurned a 5-1 lead but it was his
European Tour debut so he will hope to pick up a huge scalp to win through to the final day. 'The Rockstar' will have other ideas.
Krzysztof Ratajski and Gabriel Clemens have been two of the most in-form players on the tour this season and they collide following that. The latter defeated Callan Rydz yesterday in his first round comfortably
6-3.
One of the only tournaments in the PDC that Glen Durrant hasn't had huge success in are the European Tour events and he will hope that can change starting this weekend. He has Mervyn King in his first game though - who is a stalwart of the European Tour, can 'The King' reign supreme against 'Duzza'?
Following that is a bit of an intriguing contest. Rob Cross will lock horns once again with Damon Heta, they faced off in the
final of the Brisbane Darts Masters which was won by the latter. 'The Heat' was excellent yesterday in easing past Michael Barnard with a 102 average and 60 percent on the doubles and will hope to reproduce that today but can Cross gain revenge this time out?
Then it is the turn of Ian White against Dirk van Duijvenbode which could be an outsider for game of the day. The former without winning any titles this year has been in exceptional form on the ProTour but so has 'The Titan'.
He came in yesterday armed with his brilliant walk-on which was really well received as usual by the crowd but in White, he has one of the best players on the European Tour who was imperious at times last year. It will be very much an interesting match to call the winner of.
A double Dutch clash which will likely end very quick will see Jermaine Wattimena take on Danny Noppert and this will be followed finally by James Wade versus Steve Lennon.
Wade hasn't been at his best yet this season and could find himself as one of the seeds to head out if he can't produce that top form. This is due to Lennon playing some of his best darts in the past few weeks and that will likely fill him with confidence ahead of facing 'The Machine'.
