The Australian Darts Masters gets underway tonight in Wollongong. In this
World Series of Darts tournament,
Luke Humphries will take on Australian Joe Comito in the opening round. The 29-year-old Englishman won the World Matchplay last month and hopes to continue his victory lap in Australia.
The Australian Darts Masters is already the sixth tournament this year of the World Series of Darts. In addition to established names such as Luke Littler, Michael Smith, Luke Humphries, Dimitri Van den Bergh, Rob Cross, Peter Wright, Gerwyn Price, Damon Heta and Simon Whitlock, several local players from Australia and New Zealand will also be in action.
Luke Humphries obviously starts this tournament as the top favorite. 'Cool Hand Luke' has won almost everything there is to win in the past twelve months, is first in the world rankings with a big lead, but is still waiting for a first tournament victory in the World Series of Darts. So he starts this tournament with a clear goal. "A World Series title is something that's not on my CV, so of course I want to win," stressed the reigning world champion

"I would love to win Down Under. That would mean a lot to me, so I'm really focused this weekend.

Humphries therefore starts the Australian Darts Masters with great confidence due to his successful results of the past period. "I know if I'm on my game, it will take a top performance to beat me."
With a win in his opening match, Humphries will most likely take on Michael Smith in the quarterfinals.
