Adam Hunt and Danny Lauby Jr. are among the first eight winners at the UK
Q-School, where hundreds of players began competing for a spot in the final stage of the UK Q-School on Monday.
A place in the last eight sufficed, giving these eight players the next two days off before the battle for one of the PDC Tour Cards really begins. In addition to Hunt and Lauby, Llew Bevan, Harry Lane,
Mike Warburton, Kieron Bridgwater,
Matthew Dennant and Patrick Lynskey also remained clear on the opening day.
During the first phase of the Q-School, no PDC Tour Cards are handed out yet. Players are trying to qualify for the final phase, which is scheduled from January 11 to 14. Players who lost their Tour Card after last season and the top eight players from the Challenge Tour and Development Tour in 2023 are directly admitted to the final stage.
Qualification for the final stage is possible by reaching the last eight of one of the three tournaments. If that fails, players with enough wins during the first three days can still qualify for the final stage of the European Q-School via the rankings.
