Gary Anderson has began the Premier League restart with a thrilling win over Michael Smith which saw a repeat of their World Matchplay semi-final.

It was repeat for Anderson who won through 7-3 with a 109 average and 7/8 on the doubles as he set the early benchmark in Milton Keynes. Smith himself played his part with 7 180's and a 107 average but he only hit 18% on his doubles which proved the difference.
It was breaks of throw as the order of the day to begin the tie with Anderson punishing darts at doubles to go 2-1 up; only for Smith to reply with an 11-darter.
Another break followed as Anderson regained the lead with a 112 average at the time. The breaks continued; but the missed doubles began to be an Achilles heel for 'Bully Boy' who squandered five darts at doubles and Anderson went 4-3 up.
He created daylight from there at 5-3 and then took out 90 on the bull to assure himself of a point at 6-3 up. These prior missed doubles proved pivotal as Anderson romped to a brilliant win.
