Anderson claims first win on European Tour in seven years as Van Barneveld avenges Wade defeat at Belgian Darts Open

For the first time in seven years, Gary Anderson is a winner on a European Tour stage with a superb 6-1 triumph over Krzysztof Ratajski at the Belgian Darts Open in Wieze.

Anderson has bounced back after his disappointing foray last week which saw 'The Flying Scotsman' dumped out by Czech qualifier, Roman Benecky but was a lot more confident from the two time World Champion this week.

Scoring in particular was superb from Anderson in the crushing defeat with five 180's and a 98.4 average. He now faces practice partner Ryan Searle.

While after losing to him in earlier in the season, it was revenge for Van Barneveld who saw off James Wade and will now face Dirk van Duijvenbode in the second round.

With a 100 finish and a 12-darter, Van Barneveld managed to turn a 1-2 deficit into a 3-2 lead. He then broke Wade via tops before the Dutchman's 96 finish made it 5-2. The eighth leg went to Wade, but then 'Barney' took the win with a 17-darter.
