Anderson discusses lack of practice routine: "People call me a liar, I'm telling you now do one"

Gary Anderson is through to the Quarter-Finals of the PDC World Darts Championship after seeing off Rob Cross in a 4-3 sets win as he goes one more game away towards another World title.

"I played alright, first set I could have nicked it. Came out I was a bit cheesed off to lose the first set to be honest so came out all guns blazing," said Anderson post match.

Humphries tie

Next up will be Luke Humphries and Anderson admitted it's now up to players like the Newbury ace to take the mantle.

"A lot more fitter than what I am, I'll tell you that for a fact. Like I say we all talk about the youngsters and they're still going to be playing in 15-20 years time - they're up and coming. I've been there or there abouts for 30 years, now it's up to them."

Three-time World Champion?

Winning this World title would cement Anderson as one of the greats to have won three times but he admitted he isn't one to sit and dwell on achievements.

"I don't know about that, I just play darts. I don't want to be known as this or that, just threw the darts and sit back one day and say I wasn't that bad. I'm not one for blowing my pipe and saying I've done this or that."

Hits back on practice routine

A lot is always made about Anderson's lack of practice regime and he hit back on that.

"People call me a liar, I'm telling you now do one. If you want to see, come and live with me for six months. Stick us in the Big Brother house, not a dartboard in sight, bring us out and play and we will see how good the other lot are. Then you talk about a natural darts player."
