Anderson heaps praise on De Sousa after Premier League win: "When you talk about watching dart players how to throw, I'd watch him"

Gary Anderson has his first win of the 2021 Premier League after edging past Jose de Sousa in a 7-5 win.

As Anderson said in his post match interview, he was 4-1 up before De Sousa missed chances to draw and he admitted he is hitting a barrier in his game.

"At 4-1 up, I was enjoying it and it all went Pete Tong. I just had to slow down and take my time a bit but lucky enough in the last leg, he missed," said Anderson post match in Sky Sports.

"I'm finding out with my game, I'm alright and then all of a sudden I hit a brick wall for about a couple of legs but just got to play through it now."

First meeting with De Sousa

It was a first meeting against 'The Special One' and he heaped praise on the Grand Slam champion as a player he would watch personally as well as giving his rating on his performance.

"I like Jose. When you talk about watching dart players how to throw, I'd watch him. His throw is lovely, smooth, nice hard throw. It's brilliant."

"2 (out of 10), that's like a bonus."
