Scotland failed to win the World Cup of Darts last weekend. Gary Anderson and Peter Wright went down 10-2 against Wales in the final.
Anderson playfully showed the V-sign towards master of ceremonies John McDonald just after the lost final. This sign is considered an obscene gesture in the UK. Sky Sports' cameras therefore immediately switched to another image.
Still, Anderson's gesture was met with sympathy on social media. "Hahaha Gary Anderson shows John McDonald the V before the presentation. Great," tweeted one fan. "Gary, what a legend," said another, while a third added: "Absolute top guy Gary. In good spirits despite the defeat."
Another joked: "Great job by Gary, how he reminded John McDonald how many legs Scotland won in case he lost track haha."
