Gary Anderson is through to the Last 32 of the PDC
World Darts Championship after successfully defeating Madars Razma 3-1 in his opener.
Anderson who has suffered injury in recent months admitted that next year is his immediate focus and also touched on practicing potentially with Ryan Searle.
"I've got to the stage now when I lose it doesn't matter, I'll go home. I've had a few days on the practice board but got in my head next year, get this year over and done with, next year we will give it a good go," said Anderson post match.
"I mentioned it last time I seen Ryan. I think he's only about 40 minutes up the road. Honestly Ryan he's going to be one to watch, you've got other names coming through now but the way that lad plays darts. I watch him on the practice board, he goes on stage and plays well but nothing like what he does on the practice board."
Next up is Mensur Suljovic who of course faced Anderson in their classic World Matchplay final two years ago but he is known to hate playing him and he echoed those sentiments. He also discussed his chances and wrote himself off.
"I love Mensur but I hate playing him. He definitely is a character and a lovely bloke but on the stage I just don't want to be playing him."
"Not a hope in hell, to me I'm playing absolutely rubbish. 2029 I'll be back," he joked.
