Anderson produces superb Smith win to revive Premier League Darts fortunes, wins Week Six in Nottingham

Gary Anderson is off the bottom of the Premier League Darts table after producing his best week yet in Nottingham to claim Week Six.

Anderson was superb against Michael Smith averaging over 110 at times before edging over the line 6-4 with a 104.2 average and five 180's.

In a night dominated by talk of Michael van Gerwen and also Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price, it is the two-time champion that reigns supreme.

Both players began with 180’s to begin the opening leg with Anderson hitting 165 to leave double eight for a 10-darter which he pinned for a break as his average sat at 150.

Smith replied with a 105 checkout after Anderson had a dart at the bull for 2-0. He consolidated with a hold on double 10.

Both players hit 180’s, Anderson missed the bull for a 124 but Smith wasn’t there to mop up this time and Anderson hit double eight for 2-2.

Another 180 from Anderson saw him claim a break on double 11 from an 84 checkout to make it 3-2 with a 110 average.

It was a fourth from Anderson and double 20 saw him hold throw to go 4-2 up. Another break came as ‘The Flying Scotsman’ went one away with a 74 checkout.

A 91 checkout was missed by Smith for a break back but he returned for double eight with Anderson going off the boil.

Smith had one dart at 68 with Anderson sitting on 61 for the match as the pressure shifted to Anderson at 5-4.

Anderson had match darts come and go on 68 but returned again for double four for the victory.
