In the continuation of a series with Sky Sports, Gary Anderson chose his 2015 World Championship final win against Phil Taylor as his greatest game.
Brilliant wins over
Jelle Klaasen,
Cristo Reyes and
Peter Wright set up a semi-final against
Michael van Gerwen, his great rival; but he got the best of him to set up the clash with Taylor.
In the final, he took a 3-1 lead; but the three subsequent sets all went to Taylor. Anderson claimed three sets a row himself to make it 6-4; but 'The Power' came back to force a deciding set against Taylor. This was eased through by The Flying Scotsman.
"A lot of the boys now that are coming through; they'll never ever get to play
Phil Taylor on that stage," Anderson said. "He's won it sixteen times; if you are going to beat someone, it's got to be him just to put that big notch on your belt."
"It's great, that's what we all play darts for," he added. "Everyone who plays darts wants to make it to the Ally Pally and play the World Championship, just to play in it is a great job done. To win it, you can pat yourself on the back for that."
