"Andy Baetens, he has a lot of potential" - Belgian commentator on the future of his nation's darts

Seven Belgian darters currently hold a PDC Tour Card. In addition to top-32 players Dimitri Van den Bergh and Kim Huybrechts, these include Mike De Decker, Mario Vandenbogaerde, Robbie Knops, Brian Raman and Ronny Huybrechts.

Van den Bergh and Kim Huybrechts are already sure of retaining their Tour Card, as is Mike De Decker. Knops and Ronny Huybrechts are only in the first year of their two-year Tour Card. "Although I don't think Ronny Huybrechts is going to keep his Tour Card at the end of next year," said Matthias De Vlieger, darts commentator to VTM 2. "Brian is going to lose his Tour Card at the end of this year, unless another miracle happens. Then again, I can see Mario keeping his Tour Card."

Baetens

De Vlieger hopes that at the upcoming Q-School some new Belgians can take the step towards the PDC. "Then I think in the first place of Andy Baetens, he has a lot of potential and now at Q-School it has to succeed."

"My colleagues at VTM 2, Erik Clarys and Rudy Lanssens, have also recently set up a genuine Darts Academy to hopefully train and mentor additional Belgian talent," De Vlieger concluded.
