Phil Taylor went down last weekend in his opening match at the Champion of Champions, the second tournament of his final year on the World Seniors Darts Tour.
Despite the 10-9 defeat to Martin Adams, Taylor was still satisfied. "I enjoyed every minute of it I'll be honest with you," Taylor told Online Darts. "Throwing for the doubles I thought 'I'm going to hit this. This is going to turn the game around and the crowd are going to go wild!' I know what I've done wrong and I have put it right. I'm enjoying it the darts again."
Taylor retired from to level darts and the PDC back in 2018. 'The Power' still watches from afar however, and like many, is now enjoying the rise to prominence of Luke Littler. "I've watched every game of Luke's believe it or not. The ones he's won, the ones he's lost, and I'm impressed by him," Taylor explains.
"He's a great little player. I like his attitude towards the game. I like it because he's got that little bit of needle when he gets beat! Some people call it cocky, some people call it arrogance, it's nothing to do with that. The lad knows his ability and he knows how good he is. He knows he can do better," Taylor adds. "He's got the perfect attitude and anybody that knocks him is an idiot. They don't know what they're talking about."
