"I don’t know who he was, but he pulled my arm. It hurt a little bit" - Luke Littler grabbed by overzealous fan in Belfast, almost causing disastrous injury

Luke Littler won his first weekly title this year in Premier League Darts last Thursday. During the night however, one overzealous fan almost stopped the teenager in his tracks.

Littler nearly suffered an injury prior to his match in the semifinals against Michael van Gerwen. He was grabbed and pulled on by an over eager fan during his walk-on. Just as the TV cameras turned away, a fan grabbed his throwing arm and pulled it, which is quite obviously frowned upon for good reason. The camera focused back on Littler, who was clearly upset by the incident when security guards intervened and removed the person from the venue.

Despite the inciden, Littler emerged victorious against Van Gerwen 6-3 with an average of 99.05, although he admitted to bejng a little shaken by what had transpired. "I don’t know who he was, but he pulled my arm. It hurt a little bit," the 17-year-old dart player said. "That’s why I went straight on stage, I didn’t interact with my music. I heard everyone singing but I just needed to relax. As soon as (the referee) said ‘Game On’, I had to relax myself. But my hand is fine. It worked out well."

Littler also won the final later in the evening by defeating Nathan Aspinall 6-4. He is now second in the Premier League Darts standings, four points off leader Luke Humphries.
