Ashton continues PDC Women's Series dominance with fifth title of 2022, defeats Sheldon in Event Eight final

Lisa Ashton has continued her dominant form in the PDC Women's Series collecting her fifth title of the season and her 12th overall with victory in Event Eight.

Winning Event Six also yesterday, it was Katie Sheldon this time who made her maiden final after defeating Fallon Sherrock in the semi-finals.

Sherrock who sealed Event Seven earlier today but it was Ashton who added to her title tally seeing off the rising Irish star 5-2.

This in turn opens up a gap with 'The Lancashire Rose' sat on £5,600 ahead of Sherrock on £4,050 with the next best players being Lorraine Winstanley (£1,950) and Laura Turner (£1,750).

There will be one more set of events to decide the top eight who will qualify for the Women's World Matchplay.

But in terms of the race to the World Championship and Grand Slam, it is Ashton who has stolen a march alongside Sherrock once more.
