The first semi-final is confirmed at the 2022 Austrian Darts Open with UK Open champions set to collide as current meets former with Danny Noppert facing Nathan Aspinall later.
Noppert was first onto the oche during this evening's session and was soon off it again as he produced a 6-1 rout to see off Joe Cullen and continue his excellent form.
'The Freeze' punished a doubling nightmare from Cullen who hit 1/13 overall with Noppert producing a 95 average, a high checkout of 164 and 6/16 on his doubles to move through.
He will be joined by a resurgent Aspinall who nearly breezed past Ricky Evans just as the Kettering thrower did to Danny Jansen earlier.
But Evans' comeback was denied in the end as he came from 5-2 down to lose in the decider to Aspinall who prevails and reaches the semi-finals as his comeback continues in Graz.
