Gerwyn Price, Michael van Gerwen and Michael Smith are already certain prior to the final round of
Premier League Darts playoffs.
For the last vacant spot for the final night,
Nathan Aspinall and
Jonny Clayton are still in the race. During the final round of play of the league phase in Aberdeen, Aspinall and Clayton happen to face each other. Clayton is on 24 points, while Aspinall follows on 22 points. These are all possibilities for both players.
Clayton makes it to play-offs if...
The Welshman has his fate in his own hands. With a win over Aspinall, 'The Ferret' is definitively certain of making it to the final night of Premier League Darts.
Aspinall makes it to play-offs if...
A win by Aspinall over Clayton will not be enough to reach the play-offs. 'The Asp' may have then made up his points deficit, but in addition he is also a week's title behind Clayton.
He must therefore pass Clayton in points as well. That means Aspinall needs a final spot in Aberdeen to qualify for the play-offs in London.
