Nathan Aspinall has denied nine-dart hero
Jose de Sousa an epic win by holding him to a draw as Night Four continues in the 2021
Premier League Darts.
De Sousa as well as hitting the perfect leg also pinned 11 180's and a 100 average but it wasn't enough to claim the win over the in-form Asp in the end.
To start the tie, De Sousa was superb going six darts into a nine-dart finish before spurning his chance by missing six darts at double handing Aspinall the leg.
But following that, he made amends hitting a brilliant nine-dart finish to make it two in two nights.
It didn't faze Aspinall though who kicked back into gear and took out 49 for a 14-dart break back and a 2-1 lead after De Sousa had missed double 20 for a 120 checkout.
It became four breaks of throw in a row in short order with De Sousa making it 2-2 before he finally held his throw.
He put himself in the driving seat from there taking out double eight for a 13-dart break after Aspinall missed double 17 for a 114 finish to level. It was soon 5-3 to De Sousa but pivotally, he missed four darts at double to secure a point at 5-4 up which could have been the catalyst for a potential 7-4 win.
Instead, he did guarantee himself a point in the requisite leg but despite his heroics, he failed to win being held to a 6-6 draw.
