Nathan Aspinall is through to the Quarter-Finals of the European Darts Matchplay after seeing off Danny Noppert 6-3 on Sunday afternoon.
The first five legs were won neatly by the player who was allowed to start the leg, but after Noppert saw a dart on double twenty hit the wire, it was Aspinall who managed to take a 4-2 lead.
However, Noppert immediately broke back with a fine 121 finish. But after failing to capitalise on a 96 finish in the next leg, Aspinall again broke to take a 5-3 lead.
It was Noppert who had an average of 103.41 to Aspinall's 100.16, but still it was the latter who eventually triumphed 6-3.
Aspinall gets to take on Luke Humphries in tonight's quarter-finals. The reigning defending champion particularly impressed against Stephen Bunting. 'Cool Hand Luke' eventually won 6-3 and achieved almost a 110 average.
