ASPINALL INTO THE FINAL! Absolutely brilliant stuff from Nathan Aspinall as he produces some huge finishes to see off Kim Huybrechts 7-4 to continue his recovery from a wrist injury. What a run!
Nathan Aspinall will take aim at a second ProTour title of the season shortly in Niedernhausen when he takes on Challenge Tour stand-out Scott Williams at Players Championship 17 in the final.
Aspinall lost to Ryan Searle in PC11 earlier this season but returned to seal PC13 defeating Matt Campbell in April as the last winner before Michael Smith began his ProTour dominance. He ended the run of Kim Huybrechts in the process today averaging 98 in a 7-4 win.
But in Williams, he faces a player who albeit has been making up the numbers and does not hold a Tour Card but has been one of the most consistent on both the ProTour and Challenge Tour.
He saw off Chris Dobey and the Lincolnshire ace will get the chance to seal a maiden ProTour triumph which could open further doors including sealing his Tour Card by right without needing to complete the feat of winning the Challenge Tour this season.
