Nathan Aspinall came from 2-1 down to defeat Danny Noppert and move through to the Quarter-Finals at the World Grand Prix to begin the evening's proceedings in Dublin.

It is a debut for Aspinall but with his UK Open win, the expectations on him are high and he is living up to them showing his tenacity and fighting spirit to come back and gain the win.

Noppert started poorly missing seventeen darts at doubles and as a result, it could be believed that the initiative would have been passed to Aspinall but that didn't happen with the Dutchman taking the first set in a decider after 'The Asp' missed three at tops to win it himself.

Aspinall recovered from there though and looked brilliant as he tied the match up at 1-1 as he saw it off without any reply from Noppert.

The topsy-turvy nature of the match continued in the following set but it was Noppert who took the lead and at this point became potentially the favourite for the tie with a 3-1 set win.

Aspinall showed his fight though doubling his advantage very quickly as he looked towards the finishing line. This wasn't without one last surge from Noppert who took out 85 on the bullseye to halve the deficit.

The Stockport ace got over the line though as he set up a tie against either Stephen Bunting or Dave Chisnall who will face off in a St Helens derby shortly.
